First step is to create the database —

All is well at this point with only the exception that three boxes didn't check on “Check All”.

Okay, that seems to have worked.

And privileges seem to be properly set.

I am using XAMPP on my local machine. I had trouble entering phpMyAdmin by typing in http://localhost/phpMyAdmin. XAMPP has an introductory panel that is of orange background color and in the left-hand column under “Tools” is a link to phpMyAdmin.
